Director Kate Conway has spent over twenty years working in the UK’s leading newsrooms as a senior TV and radio producer.

After 15 years working on some of the BBC’s flagship political programmes in Westminster – On The Record, The Westminster Hour, The Daily Politics and This Week – she moved over to Channel 4 News. For nearly six years she was instrumental in delivering agenda-setting stories and producing some of the stand out coverage of the Windrush scandal, the 2019 general election with Jon Snow and the fallout from Brexit with her Britain On the Couch series. Working with both presenters and correspondents in both daily news and high quality long form features, she produced reports on both the foreign and home desks. Building up a strong reputation for bringing in news lines and exclusive interviews with diverse voices, she aimed to reflect and examine the social issues affecting Britain.

As a programme editor at the newly established Times Radio, she was part of the station’s launch team, working with the presenters Lord Finkelstein, Michael Portillo, Carole Walker and Alexis Conran as the station got off the ground.

While still at Westminster she was asked by the writer and director Armando Iannucci to act as a script consultant on the award winning satire The Thick Of It and In The Loop.
